J. Ascaso, born in a remote village in Huesca, demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. In the 1950s, with only 3,000 pesetas in his pocket and a mind full of ideas, he moved to Barcelona in search of opportunities. There, the boom of espresso fueled a thriving coffee industry.

He began working in the production of components for espresso machines, collaborating with brands like Gaggia. Faced with the growing demand for maintenance and repair of these machines, he decided to manufacture components for various brands.

Overcoming initial challenges, he hired a sales representative and expanded his business throughout Spain, offering his products to local distributors and technicians. In 1962, he founded his own company to produce and distribute spare parts for espresso machines.

The legacy of J. Ascaso continues with his son, JL. Ascaso, who diversified the company by venturing into the manufacturing of espresso machines. Their way of working reflects a commitment to quality and a passion for coffee, expanding the brand to over 95 countries and establishing new business divisions.
This is how the philosophy ‘for coffee lovers’ came to be.
